It seems every week we learn a little bit more about the next-gen Jeep Wrangler. Now, thanks once again to the folks at JL Wrangler Forums, we know a lot more about the upcoming off-roader. The Jeep forum says it obtained a preliminary options list from an internal FCA dealer system, and that list is pretty revealing.

For starters, the ordering system confirms the Wrangler’s three engine choices, which will include a turbocharged and direct-injected 2.0-liter I-4, 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6, and 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V-6. The 2.0-liter turbo-four, rumored to be called “Hurricane,” will come with a Belt Starter Generator for engine stop/start capability. That should help boost the Wrangler’s EPA fuel economy, an area where it has historically struggled. The JL-generation Wrangler will offer a six-speed manual transmission for rear-wheel-drive applications and two eight-speed automatic options (850RE and 8HP75).

Also revealed were the trim levels, which include two-door Sport, two-door Rubicon, Unlimited Sport, Unlimited Sahara, and Unlimited Rubicon. The two-door Sahara model has apparently been discontinued. A power soft top will be available for the first time, and a power sliding hard top is said to arrive in late 2018. But the biggest thing that jumps off the options list is a new 2.72:1 Selec-Trac full-time four-wheel-drive system that will be available on the Wrangler Unlimited Sahara. Up until the JL, the Wrangler has only offered part-time four-wheel drive.

There are a lot more details in the leaked screen shots, so head on over to JL Wrangler Forums to find out what else you can expect from the next-gen Wrangler.
