Jaguar is putting the finishing touches on its first all-electric vehicle, and it looks nearly ready for its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show this September. Our spy shooter has captured a Jaguar I-Pace prototype wearing some eye-catching camouflage.

Jag isn’t trying very hard to disguise its upcoming electric crossover. In fact, with this turquoise camo job, Jag is drawing more attention to its test mule. There’s even a large decal on the side with the hashtag #JaguarElectrifies. If you know your car is going to be photographed and plastered all over the internet, you might as well advertise on it. The vehicle’s styling doesn’t venture far from the concept that debuted at last year’s L.A. auto show, as it features a low-slung crossover body with an aggressively raked roofline.

The production I-Pace is also expected to have similar specs to the concept, with two electric motors providing all-wheel-drive capability and a 90-kilowatt-hour battery pack that’s estimated to be good for 220 miles of range. Power output for the concept was 400 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. The I-Pace will accept DC fast charging and can be charged to 80 percent on a 50-kW fast charger in 90 minutes. No details on pricing have surfaced yet, but we expect it will be competitively priced against the Tesla Model S and Model X

The I-Pace isn’t the only SUV Jag has cooking. The automaker recently announced plans to build a conventionally powered E-Pace small SUV to slot beneath the F-Pace. The E-Pace will debut July 13 and go on sale in early 2018 starting at just under $40,000.

The I-Pace is being built by Magna Steyr in Austria.
